Hi Calvin, signed into the new site. FYI I got email notifications for all the substack posts afaict. That's what normally prods me to read the articles so can't imagine there'll be any real change in my user experience. Best of luck.
Hi Calvin, I have followed the steps mentioned by you and i am logged into calvinfroedge.com but when i go into my account status it says - Plan complementary and not paid , though i am a paid customer via Substack. should i follow any other steps to get full access ?
I don't mind this at all! A diversified information base is always better because at anytime substack could become the target of US authorities and get censored or shutdown. Just keep us in the loop of how you want payment. I'd prefer to pay annually as opposed to monthly anyway.
Hello Calvin, I wasnt a subscriber on Substack and i have learned about you through Paulo Macro, i would like to be able to follow your work on your website but i need your invite could you add me please. dr.yanis.kettane@gmail.com Thanks
Hi Calvin, I'm waiting for instructions on a Bitcoin path should use to pay you for my subscription which is due for renewal.
In addition, I want to request that you update you review of BW Energy. The good thing is that the stock has gone up over the past few months while oil and most of the producers have gone down.
I would like to buy more but there are enough differences in the numbers that I hesitate. Overall reserves have gone up, Operating costa are higher than numbers you used. They are still working on their production problems. I really would like to hear from you on BW Energy.
Hi Calvin, clicked on the link and tried to sign in but i couldn't receive any login link even in my spam after an hour or so. Could there be some problem? Thanks
It appears to be a deliverability issue with hotmail...hopefully will resolve on its own "The mail server has been temporarily rate limited due to IP reputation. For e-mail delivery information, see https://postmaster.live.com"
It can’t be because you are no longer receiving revenue. There are hundreds of writers who do not charge for their musings. So there has to be something else happening. Very strange.
Ah ok. Thx. That seems like a self destruction policy to me. Just like readers need to take occasional breaks via a pause in billing, writers do as well. All that policy does is drive folks to do what Calvin has done.
I'll be honest accessing yet another site (as simple as it sounds) becomes jut another thing I have to remember and do. Sorry I know that sound entitled and lazy but I don't like changing my routine. All the best with your endeavours, I honestly mean that but I'm exhausted keeping up with you.
I have been getting email notification on all your substack posts, including on this one. Encourage you to remain on substack so there’s not yet another site to check. I Enjoy your posts Calvin.
The big issue that made me decide to move off Substack though was that as soon as I disabled credit card billing, I was no longer able to write posts to paid subscribers. I had to write to all subscribers.

You have access to all posts if your status is complimentary. You have full access.
That is the only option I can choose in the blog software to give people paid access without accepting credit cards.

Just got the link , thanks calvin

If an author pauses billing, Substack doesn’t let them email paid readers only — they have to email everyone.

It must be new. I’m sure I emailed paid readers only while billing was paused. Definitely not helpful.

If you receive an email you'll be able to read it in your email. If you want to log into the site you just click the link to log in.
The issue is that Substack won't let me write posts to paid subscribers anymore since I disabled credit card billing.

You'll get emails directly from my personal site and all you need to do to log in is type in your email and click the link you get.
I'd love to stay on Substack but apparently they don't want me. And of course, they only support Stripe / credit card billing as a payment method.
The big issue that made me decide to move off Substack though was that as soon as I disabled credit card billing, I was no longer able to write posts to paid subscribers. I had to write to all subscribers.
